Long lost friends

I have been thinking a lot about the past and old friends that I haven't seen in years. Wondering where they are and what life has brought to them. Just last week I got an email from a girl I worked with almost 30 years ago! Also, I just recently reconnected with my best friend from more that 30 years ago. Lots went under that proverbial bridge but I am so grateful that we are back in touch. I am just sad that she lives so far away.
But I think she has been reading my blog so here is a shout out to Miss Melanie in Tennessee - HI MEL !!! :)

So classmates keeps emailing me that there are like 500+ names in my guestbook and to see these names you have to become a "GOLD" member.
This of course infuriates me to no end - they are demons from hell at that web site. Now, let me just say, I was not one of the most popular girls in school. Not that I was unpopular (I guess to the popular clique, I was), I had my circle of friends and knew almost everyone in my class. But I was no cheerleader (sorry Cat). Anyway, there are "visits" to my guestbook almost every day for the past year or so. I certainly don't want to pay $40 to get this information, but it is really BUGGING me. Who in the world could it be?? I still live in the same town that I grew up in, I am listed in the book, I have lived in the same house for 20 years and I am still in touch with or friends with almost all my high school friends. Please, whoever you are, leave me a message before I go insane. I will not (are you listening, classmates?) pay money to see this. A matter of principle. Besides, my husband DID pay the money for a years membership (I guess curiosity got the best of him) and then they just automatically renewed the membership! Some fine print and all about cancelling in writing and all that crap. Wankers.
Boy did that blog go awry. Started out old friends and ended up a rant about CM. I guess I will start the old friends blog up again soon. If you are an old friend (or a new one) leave a comment.

  1. I AGREE with you about Classmates! I went Gold for 3 months a few years ago, just so I could read an e-mail sent there by an old friend.

    Jerks.

What really yanks me is that I can't figure out what I can and can't do for free. For instance, a friend of mine e-mailed me (on CM) this year and I could read it fine, but when I tried messaging a couple friends it didn't work.

    ARGH.
